Frequently asked questions.
Is there any “spice” in your books?
No. I have promised my readers that I will never write spice—explicit scenes— in my books. I’m mostly YA, and I don’t think spice should be in books marketed toward teens.
Is Like Courage on a Starless Night a part of a series?
Yes! Like Courage is apart of The Gnareth Chronicles, a YA Medieval-esque fantasy series. This will be a trilogy with a prequel, a sequel, and a few spinoffs in the future.
Psst. There's a FREE prequel out now on Substack!!
What is the age range for your books?
Ages 12-18, but I’ve had people of all ages love my books. My grandma has read them, and someone read book 1 to their 6 and 4 year old.
What is your book about?
An anxious librarian and a nobleman with a wicked temper join forces against a rebel group bent on destroying their kingdom from within.
There’s a bit of mystery, cloak-and-dagger elements, and it’s dual POV, which means you’ll get perspectives from Naya, my FMC, and Benjamin, my MMC, with one other perspective here and there, too.
Why do you care so much about having clean books?
My babies will read my books one day, and the last thing I want is to have them come to me and say. “Mom?! Why did Naya and Creed do that?!”
And I've been prompted by the Lord to keep my work clean. Can't go against His wishes!
Is there any magic?
Not in this series! It has been described as “alternative history” in Amazon listings. There's no magic, but plenty of superstitions! I based a lot of the kingdoms off of different cultures that I love in this world of ours.
Stay tuned for more magic in my upcoming series: The Five Harmonies, a ATLA inspired duology, and The Bookshop of Adjacent Dreams, a contemporary fantasy about teleporting sharks.
